Stingy! The initial piercing can sting, and/ or it can sting later when you turn or move the jewelry, or if you bump it. Pretty standard for a piercing, but more of a sting and less of an ache, it's cartilage. Your ear lobes are just flesh. The pain is a little different. If the piercer has never done a tragus, don't let them.

I wouldn't do on-the-ear headphones yet though. For earbud use, I have to "one ear it" and put a bud in my non tragus ear only. I do see the potential in being able to get a close-fitting
I tend to find that On Ear headphones with large pads made of foam (search for Grado SR80i headphones, for an example of this) tend to be the best to wear with upper cartilage piercings, and that depending on the size, Over Ear headphones can be a bit uncomfortable at times.
