If your box displays the clock 24/7 it means you have turned off the default low power standby mode (any reason why ?). It's possible to force a factory reset using a usb stick. Hopefully Barry will post a link to the file required. Similary a freesat re-tune should also request a postcode, can you check that this happens ?

A tip worth trying is to perform a soft reset on the remote by pressing the red and OK button together until the opaque pvr button blinks. If the white buttons at the top (PVR, TV, DVD, Amp) flash three times rather than once when you press a control, your batteries are flat.
The interference thing is likely to be an HDMI negotiation issue. I sometimes get green screens/snow for a few seconds when my old Humax Freesat box starts up. Signal strength/quality meters on PVRs and TVs are very much a guestimate. Only a professional meter will give you precise readings.
